Taylorsville is located approximately 8 miles from the park for food or other needs. This is in effort to help prevent the introduction of the Emerald Ash Borer into the state. Taylorsville Lake State Park is a favorite of both wranglers and anglers. The park sits on 3,acre Taylorsville Lake, where anglers can vie for bass, bluegill and crappie.

The 1,acre park encompasses some of the most beautiful riding country around, not far away from Kentucky's biggest city. The wonderful mile trail system on this park is managed as multi-use trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. A day on the lake is a glorious opportunity at Taylorsville Lake. Rent a fishing boat and cast for bass, bluegill or crappie; schedule cruising time on one of the marinas pontoon boats, or launch your own from four launching ramps.

The marina has open and covered slips, gas, food, and fishing equipment. Camp out in Taylorsville Lakes RV campground, which has a central service building with laundry. Ten sites of the campground are set aside for horse camping. These sites have water and electricity and share the RV camp's laundry room.
